Malik was the lively and excitable timekeeper of all of Dinotopia, residing in Waterfall City. He was a Stenonychosaurus and maintained the helicoid geochronograph, recording the history of the island.[1]

Malik was tasked with teaching Arthur Denison some of his formal studies, focusing on time. He taught Arthur that time travels in a spiral, interpreting that time moves on, while history repeats itself. He had a museum of clocks and sundials.
